Since my first hair appointment with Grant who currently owns and works at Ballyhoo Hair I always get complimented on my hair and asked “who does your hair?”. I love Ballyhoo Hair and couldn’t recommend them more highly. In order to do this review justice I decided I needed to know what people wanted from their hairdressers.

The top six answers from my friends and family were:

Number 1- A salon that listens to their clients and understands that the expert on the head of hair is the man or woman that owns it, not the hairdresser. Ballyhoo Hair listens to their clients tell them about their hair and believes them. They always ask how I liked my previous hair treatments and how my hair has been and listen to my answers. Their listening assures good results when you leave the salon every time.

Number 2 – Being able to achieve the style created by the hairdresser at home without getting pushed into buying costly products they don’t need. At Ballyhoo hair you will always get a great cut or style which means it will last and look good at home. Ballyhoo does have products available to purchase at reasonable prices if you request them. I have never been pressured to purchase a product and it is just simply something the salon would never do.

Number 3 – Time. Make the client feel like you have the time to do their hair. Make the client feel respected and important. A friendly atmosphere! Ballyhoo hair delivers this and so much more! I love going to this salon to have my hair done. We laugh, we tell stories, and I am always sad when it’s home time! Grant my stylist and the owner has been doing my hair for over 25 years and in fact has been doing four generations of women’s hair in my family including my nan who is now 92, my mum, myself and my daughter who is 2. He and his staff will make the time for you catering for your age and needs.

Number 4 – Appointment times. How long are the wait times? Are the appointment times allocated correctly? Is your time valued as a customer? To this I answer definitely. I know they expect their customers to respect their time and be on time and therefore they do the same in return. If for some reason they are running behind they will ring their clients apologise and for example tell them they are running half hour behind and offer to reschedule appointments or let them know so they don’t have to wait in the salon as a courtesy to their customers. They expect the same in return if you are running late a courtesy call so they can ensure all clients time is valued.

Number 5 – Price. Lets face it we all want reasonable prices that are consistent and available to the customer and don’t change every visit. Ballyhoo hair has a fixed price list that is available for customers. You will not pay different amounts for the same treatment every time you go. They are a reasonably priced salon that use good quality products.

Number 6 – Training. Customers want stylists that are up to date with current techniques and popular styles. All staff at Ballyhoo are continually striving to maintain and update their qualifications for their clients. The salon offers up to date hair styling and techniques. Ballyhoo Hair not only meets all of the above criteria it exceeds them all. I have been attending this salon since it opened and I have had my hair done by the owner Grant for over 25 years before this and will continue to do so in the future. Ballyhoo Hair is more than a salon, it’s a family. The new salon is a spacious, comfortable, trendy environment that is a creative peaceful workspace and you just have to check out the amazing mirrors and chandelier for yourself, words simply can’t describe them!

I have been going to Ballyhoo Hair for 6 years! and after another fantastic cut and colour last Friday thought I should post how well Grant and his team have looked after not only myself but my sons for all this time, The service I receive in the salon from making bookings with ease to my friendly reminder the day before my appointment make life so easy and Grants amazing cuts,colours and advice on how to look after my hair will keep me coming back for years to come.

Ballyhoo Hair is a very special place. I found the amazing Grant and his wonderful team four years ago when looking for a new hairdresser and I have sincerely never been anywhere better. The atmosphere is always welcoming, attentive and fun, and the care and service is absolutely phenomenal at every visit. Grant’s experience and knowledge is incredibly impressive and he knows exactly what you want as well as what suits you best. Don’t miss out on a wash/rinse/scalp massage by Gabby – she’s so good that I’ve fallen asleep in complete relaxation at the basin every time! Oh, and the decor is simply sumptuous on its own – at their new premises (just down the road from the original salon) you’re now transported to the beautifully gilded age of the 1920′s and 1930′s. A beautiful place for beautiful hair.

Not only do I leave every time with an amazing look that provides me with weeks of compliments and poise, but I leave with new friends and contacts. Grant as a fantastic hairdresser uses the finest products that I would never stray from and with quality advice and incredible service my hair never looks better. Ballyhoo isn’t just a five star hairdresser but a haven from my busy reality.

Ballyhoo is everything you want in a hair salon and more.. Comforting, friendly, fun and the yummiest tea and bickies ever! I would follow Grant all over the world if i had to because he is the only person i trust with my hair! If you have or want blonde hair i couldn’t recommend them more i have the best color blonde i have ever seen and always receive nothing but compliments I LOVE BALLYHOO!

I’ve been getting my hair cut with Grant for more than 15 years, since I was a little girl in a booster seat, which now makes me a hard-to-please young female. He is an extremeley talented hairdresser with many years of experience. Grant fully devotes himself to his clients. He genuinely treats each client as VIP and only produces results of the very highest quality. His new salon, Ballyhoo, is comfortable, intimate, elegant and quirky. The products used are environmentally friendly and support children with diseases and/or disabilities. I couldn’t reccommend Grant and Ballyhoo more. I am a very happy and loyal client.
